The UK e-bike market has taken another step toward maturity with new domestic motor servicing partners announced for leading manufacturers Fazua, Mahle and Brose.

Brose this week announced a central service and support centre for the UK and Ireland, partnering the eBike Motor Centre, who previously featured here on CyclingElectric for its much broader expertise in the subject of repairing motors from a variety of leading brands. eBike Motor Centre is part of the broader Performance Line Bearings business which has a long history of providing bearing spares for numerous precise bicycle applications.

‘The partnership is incredibly interesting for us because we’ve already worked a lot with Brose drives before,’ says Peter Collard, who founded the repair shop in 2018. ‘Brose customers and we will benefit greatly from it. It’s a win-win situation for everyone.’

Since the end of 2020, Brose says that it has been steadily expanding its services across Europe. In Germany and Austria, Brose is responsible for training bicycle dealers and processing the complaints they report. In the event of a warranty claim, the company guarantees a replacement within 96 hours. This now will be the target in the UK.

The eBike Motor Centre is contactable by phone on 01425 656656 and its address for motor repairs is:

Unit 1, The Glenmore Centre, Sandleheath Industrial Estate, Old Brickyard Road, Fordingbridge, Hampshire, SP6 1TE

Fazua lands e-bike motor back up partner

Another partnership inked in January came from Porsche eBike Systems owned Fazua which linked up with long-standing UK distributor Upgrade Bikes.

Here the link up will see the fulfilment of after-sales and warranty claims and the forwarding of e-bike motor servicing jobs to the motor firm’s Ottobrunn headquarters.

FAZUA said the UK is an important target market. Heiko Bohle, Director Sales and After-Sales at Porsche eBike Performance, said: “We look forward to working with the team at Upgrade Bikes. Their local experience will help advance our international strategy in the UK through a consistently high service level for our business partners and end consumers.”

Shops may also call on a local brand support representative, Matthew Gilliver.

Upgrade Bikes is found here and contactable on 01403 711 611 (though this service is routed via local bike shops and workshops, rather than directly)

Mahle gains e-bike motor servicing centre

ZyroFisher, one of the UK’s major cycling and outdoor distributors, is now the port of call for Mahle e-bike motor servicing and warranty in the UK.

The Mahle electric bike motor brand has in recent years been responsible for producing some of the market’s lighter hub motors, namely the X20 and X35+, as well as delivering a variety of side line products like range extenders.

Bike shops and consumers with Mahle e-bike products in need of care can contact support at Mahle.Service@zyrofisher.co.uk, or by calling 0800 051 7557.
