SEATTLE, August 7, 2024 - Rad Power Bikes™ today unveiled the RadKick, an ebike engineered to ride more like a standard bike while packed with the features and functionality Rad is known for. The RadKick addresses a gap in Rad’s lineup identified by rider feedback. With that feedback and over 15 years as ebike industry leaders, Rad’s team designed the RadKick to be a simpler, more intuitive, and lighter-weight ride that maintains high-quality, rigorously tested components.

The RadKick is available in two drivetrain styles: a 7-speed chain drive and, for the first time in Rad history, a single-speed belt drive. For a classic riding experience, the 7-speed chain is the industry-standard; equipped with a wide range of gears, riders can conquer hills with ease. The RadKick Belt Drive was designed for those who desire a smoother, quieter, lower-maintenance ride. By swapping the traditional bike chain with a power carbon belt, this version of the RadKick can go longer between service appointments, eliminates the messy hassle of chain grease and provides riders a quieter experience. Designed with urban riders in mind, the RadKick Belt Drive is also equipped with a responsive torque sensor that provides power when you need it for a more natural ride feel. At under 55 pounds, the stress-free RadKick is light enough to carry up stairs or slide onto a city bus rack, making it the perfect sidekick for college students, travelers, commuters or anyone simply looking for an everyday ebike at an accessible price point.

"Since joining Rad, I have worked closely with our customer service teams, engineers and quality leaders to reassess our lineup and identify holes that needed to be filled. RadKick was that missing piece,” said Phil Molyneux, CEO of Rad Power Bikes. “Designed for riders who want an ebike that’s lighter and more affordable, RadKick is a natural extension of our mission to make ebikes accessible to everyone with its affordability and intuitive operation. We’ve stayed true to Rad DNA with premium features but kept simplicity at the core to welcome even more riders to the ebike community.”

While lighter in weight, the RadKick comes standard with numerous features making it an ideal go-to ebike for a wide variety of riders. The front suspension smooths bumps in the road for greater comfort, and its robust geared hub motor, twist grip throttle, and pedal assist create a sweat-free ride. Full front and rear fenders protect you and your belongings from dirt and grime. The front and rear mounting points make it easy to customize with baskets, racks, or other accessories - tried and true features you’ll find consistently across Rad models. Plus, a rear rack is equipped to hold up to 55 pounds of cargo.

Because of Rad’s commitment to safety, each component was rigorously tested to meet the highest standards of safety and durability. Specifically, the RadKick features the industry-leading Safe Shield Battery with thermal-resistant technology and is certified by ACT to UL 2849 and UL 2271 standards. The headlight and taillight boost visibility so riders can see and be seen at all hours and features fast-acting hydraulic brakes to ensure reliable, smooth stops.

The RadKick is now available for pre-order in the U.S. online at RadPowerBikes.com or at a RadRetail store, and will begin shipping to customers in early September. The Arctic Blue chain drive is available for $1,199 and the Midnight Blue belt drive is available for $1,399.
